Ponyta

Before this show aired I had the wonderful fortune of meeting Osso, a string quartet that played arrangement's of Sufjan Stevens' 2003 album, Enjoy Your Rabbit. They played a live show that floored the audience. They opened with Year of the Dog and had the audience in the palms of their hands, but when they got to Year of the Horse, the audience was blown away. Tears seared my weathered cheeks and as the cello's wavering sounds flickered in the hall, the viola's punctual pizzacato flickered from ear to ear. I highly recommend their recently released album, Run Rabbit Run.

Ponyta, is an excellent example of the beauty of potential. More developed, Rapidash, is strong willed, occasionally stubborn, and simply put, not one to bowl over for anyone. While maturity is to be appreciated, there's a certain rawness to Ponyta that mustn't be overlooked. Eagerness to love, eagerness to explore, with an unabashed sense of curiosity. Often these qualities go stifled in the world we live in, but I reject this outlook and demand that we embrace a sentimentality where passionate, but darting whims are wholly appreciated and carefully nurtured. For it is only the darting flickering of kindling that can keep us warm in the cold of night.
The show.
