The gest.
Nothing more than a glance, and an entire conversation has begun, been savored and wrapped in an instant.
I often underestimate wordless communication. As an undergraduate I sought to understand my world better by exploring the analytic realms of linguistics. I hoped to get a better grasp of what it meant to live. You might, be wondering why I would pursue this notorious subject through this particular avenue. Meaning in my life through my understanding of human expressions of meaning. While a bit circular, my studies allowed me to see that if anything, the nature of all meaning is multidimensionality. And that despite grammarians and logicians attempts to put forth explanations of meaning in the absence of an interpreter, the expression of meaning was wholly one based on context.
Linguistic purists be damned. Yes, it's true that I flunked out of my studies while on that path
, but still let me assure that I know a thing or two about truth conditions, semantics, recursion and pragmatic models of interpretation!
, but still let me assure that I know a thing or two about truth conditions, semantics, recursion and pragmatic models of interpretation! While I may have failed to have fully explored the depths of expressed meaning, I know of a man, who pioneered an entire dimension human expression. Marcel Marceau.
It is to him, and the pokémon that proudly followed his great ballet flatted strides, Mr. Mime. That I dedicate this weeks' Vulpixelation.
